April 16, 2005 - Topic - Food Allergy Research and Resource Program (FARRP): Julie Nordlee from FARRP in Lincoln, Nebraska spoke to the group about their work with manufacturers of food products. The FARRP website is http://www.farrp.org/index.htm
August 9, 2005 - Topic - Food Allergy Basics: Overview of organizational plans for OFASG. Dr. Kettelhut spoke on some food allergy basics and held a very informative question and answer discussion.
October 11, 2005 - Topic - Food Holiday Tips and Food Allergy Updates: Exchange of food allergy tips and ideas for the upcoming holidays in October, November, and December. Discussion about epipens. Dr. Kettelhut lead the discussion and shared a new type of epipen with the group.
April 8, 2006 - Topic - Emergency Action Plans for Food Allergies: Dr. Kettelhut discussed food allergy action plans and a medical conference update on food allergies.
August 20, 2006 - Topic - School and Food Allergies: Kris Stapp, Visiting Nurse Association's Manager of the School Health Program was the guest speaker. The Visiting Nurse Association provides school nurses to Douglas County West schools, Bennington schools, Elkhorn schools, District 66 elementary schools and many private parochial schools. The discussion included various aspects about food allergies in school including what information parents should gather for the school, developing a partnership with a school nurse, and understanding the variations in school house services.
October 29, 2006 - Topic - Explaining Food Allergies and Food Allergy Tests: Dr. Kettelhut stepped our group through a detailed explanation of food allergies and the food allergy tests. He discussed the different food allergy tests and how the tests are used. The detailed discussion touched on many different aspects of food allergies and food allergy tests.
April 21, 2007 - Topic - Anaphylaxis: Dr. Kettelhut presented a video on anaphylaxis and the use of epinephrine. Following that, he lead the group through a discussion on various food allergy related topics.
September 8, 2007 - Topic - Lessons Learned from Fatal Food Allergy Reactions: Reviewed information gathered by the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network about common patterns in fatal food allergy reactions. Discussed ideas to break these dangerous patterns.

The Omaha Food Allergy Support Group was there to spread the word about the group's mission and to promote community awareness. Thank you to Whole Foods Market for allowing OFASG to set up an information table at the fair!

September 15, 2007 - Walk for Food Allergy: OFASG members participated in the Walk for Food Allergy to benefit FAAN. Walked at 10:00 A.M. on a cool Saturday morning around the Heartland of America Park Lake in downtown Omaha.
